woodWOP 9.0 is the latest major release of HOMAG’s graphical CNC programming software for woodworking machines, available since May 2025. The release is built around the theme “Focused on focus,” with a redesigned interface and an operating concept that prioritizes direct interaction with the workpiece graphic.
Key New Features in woodWOP 9.0
Redesigned Interface & Dark Mode
The new user interface features clean lines, a uniform color scheme, and a significantly larger graphic area. The white background in the graphic and parameter dialogs gives woodWOP 9.0 a modern, fresh look in HOMAG’s powerTouch style. A Dark Mode option is now available for improved readability and eye comfort during extended use.
Favorites Mode
Users who need more space for the workpiece graphic can display parameters in Favorites Mode. Only the most important parameters of a macro are shown; the full parameter dialog remains one click away. The favorites menu can be individually configured and either fixed at a specific position in the workpiece graphic or moved along with the selected machining operation. Within a macro family, switching between variants—such as changing a vertical hole to a horizontal hole—requires only a few parameter adjustments.
Drag & Drop, Multiselect & Intelligent Snapping
Drag & drop, multi-selection, and move functions, combined with intelligent catch points and catch lines, make woodWOP substantially more intuitive to use. Contour programming in particular benefits from drag & drop: starting points, lines, arcs, chamfers, roundings, and splits can be specified quickly, reducing contour programming time by more than 50%.
New Contour Programming
Contour element programming has been renewed, allowing contours to be created directly in the graphic using drag & drop and polyline functions. The drop position defines the end point of the element, streamlining what was previously a coordinate-heavy task.
Nesting Plugin
The woodWOP nesting plugin enables manual nesting of individual programs within woodWOP. Minimum distances to the unprocessed panel edge and to adjacent parts are automatically monitored, and the formatting macro generates the required milling paths for separating the parts. It is designed for occasional nesting without requiring separate nesting software.
