Pandat 2026 is CompuTherm’s latest release of the CALPHAD-based materials design platform, delivered in two parts: the Pandat 2026A update (September 2026) and the broader third-generation framework announced for the 2026 cycle . The release centers on integrating CALPHAD calculations with AI workflows and expanding solidification simulation capabilities.
Key New Features in Pandat 2026
PandatAi – AI-Powered Materials Design Platform
A new AI assistant that converts plain-language materials questions into complete CALPHAD/ICME workflows . It connects to the Pandat calculation engine via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), available as a plugin for Claude Desktop/Code or Codex, or as a standalone app for Windows and Linux . PandatAi drives four calculation modules (PanPhaseDiagram, PanEvolution, PanSolidification, PanDiffusion) plus high-throughput screening via PanPython, and every calculation it runs is written as a standard Pandat batch file for full transparency and traceability .
Third-Generation Framework (PanLink & PanDataNet)
Pandat’s third generation introduces PanLink, a runtime integration layer connecting CALPHAD calculations with FEM, phase-field, ICME, and AI frameworks . PanDataNet maps thermodynamic state space for rapid reuse, enabling simulations at “billion-scale speeds” through dynamic data clustering and adaptive time control, overcoming limitations of traditional direct-coupling approaches .
New PanPhaseField Plugins (Pandat 2026A)
Two solidification plugins were added to PanPhaseField :
-
CA Solidification Plugin (CA-PanGrainStructure): Predicts grain nucleation, growth, impingement, grain size, shape, orientation, and columnar-to-equiaxed transition (CET) for casting, welding, and additive manufacturing, with CALPHAD-driven thermodynamics .
-
OP Solidification Plugin (OpenPhase): Multicomponent multiphase-field simulation with live CALPHAD coupling, modeling dendrite morphology, eutectic/peritectic reactions, and secondary-phase nucleation .
PanPhaseDiagram Enhancements
Added martensite and bainite start temperature calculations, plus the ability to calculate critical points and peaks along critical lines and surfaces . Flexible database syntax now supports the Einstein heat capacity model and two-state liquid model .
