SimaPro Craft 10.4 is the latest major update to PRé Sustainability’s industry-standard Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) software, released in April 2026. It introduces significant data library updates, a new ISO 14067-compliant method, and enhanced security features.

Key New Features in Version 10.4

Database and Method Updates

  • ecoinvent 3.12: The main data library update includes approximately 1,300 new datasets, strengthening coverage in energy, batteries, construction, and waste management.

  • BAFU:2025: A new optional Swiss LCI database with over 11,000 third-party reviewed datasets across 176 categories, including the Ecological Scarcity 2021 impact method.

  • IPCC 2021 – ISO 14067: A new method specifically for product carbon footprint studies, supporting independent accounting of aviation emissions (stratospheric and tropospheric).

  • IMOA Update: Three datasets updated and a new “Molybdenum Concentrate” dataset added from the International Molybdenum Association.

Security and Access

  • Integrated Login (SSO): A new secure login process requiring daily internet authentication for license compliance. Not applicable to Faculty and Classroom license holders.

Usability and Performance

  • SimaPro Ideas Board: A new platform for users to suggest features and vote on ideas from others.

  • Lognormal Validation: Prevents parameter value of 0 with lognormal distribution, which previously could produce incorrect uncertainty results.

  • Cumulative Results Default: Network and Tree calculations now show cumulated indicators by default.

  • Improved CSV Export: Only units actually used are exported, preventing import errors.
