ProtaStructure Suite Enterprise 2027: Structural BIM Analysis & Design Software

ProtaStructure Suite Enterprise 2027 is the latest generation of Prota Software’s structural BIM design solution, officially released in June 2026. This version delivers major breakthroughs in cold-formed steel design, analysis engine performance, reporting systems, and bidirectional ETABS interoperability, built for engineers who need efficient modeling, analysis, and design of complex building structures.

Key New Features

Cold-Formed Steel Design (New Module)

ProtaStructure 2027 integrates cold-formed steel design fully into the platform for the first time, allowing engineers to model, analyze, and design without external specialized tools.

Supported codes include:

  • AISI S100-16/20 (LRFD and ASD)

  • Eurocode EN 1993-1-3

  • Turkish CYTHYE / TSC2016

Member capacity is determined using the Direct Strength Method (DSM), calculating strengths for each buckling mode directly from full-section elastic buckling loads without iterative effective width reduction. Distortional buckling is treated as an independent limit state. Supported section shapes include open sections (C, Z, hat) and closed sections (RHS, SHS, CHS).

4x Faster Analysis Engine

The structural analysis engine has been completely redesigned, achieving a 4x speed improvement across all model sizes. Runtime for large, complex multi-story structures is significantly reduced, enabling faster design iteration.

New Report Engine (10x Faster)

The reporting system has been rebuilt from the ground up, migrating to a PDF-based generation engine with up to 10x faster report generation. The new system provides a more integrated submission workflow:

  • Centralized Report Submission Sets: Add reports from a library, drag to reorder, and generate merged reports with one click

  • Automatic Project Checks: The system automatically analyzes structure type, materials, and members to generate default submission sets and recommend missing reports

  • Company Logo & QR Codes: Supports adding company logos, date/time, and QR codes in reports

  • Cover Pages & Model Info Reports: New presentable cover pages and model information reports with 3D and plan views

  • Global Status Overview: Errors, warnings, and information items across all reports are visible at a glance

Bidirectional ETABS Interoperability

ProtaStructure 2027 introduces powerful ETABS import and a completely rebuilt ETABS export module, enabling bidirectional BIM interoperability and eliminating manual re-modeling across platforms. Supports ETABS v13 through v23.

Import and export features include: automatic unit conversion (imperial/metric), intelligent mapping of orthogonal and skew grids, cumulative story elevation management, automatic distinction between concrete and steel, full parametric support for rectangular/circular/pipe/L/T/U/I sections, and automatic load case classification (DEAD → G, LIVE → Q).
