AutographPC 12.4: Artificial Lift Design & Simulation Software

AutographPC 12.2 is a release of Baker Hughes’ industry-standard software for designing and simulating artificial lift systems. Version 12.2 was released in September 2024 and focuses on expanding the HPump (horizontal surface pumping) module with gas modeling capabilities and other usability improvements .

Key New Features in Version 12.4

HPump Gas Modeling

The most significant addition in 12.2 is the gas modeling option for HPump systems. Traditionally, AutographPC treated fluids as incompressible, but this update allows engineers to account for Gas Volume Fraction (GVF) when selecting pump stages for horizontal surface pumping applications .

To activate this feature, users input Gas-Oil Ratio (GOR) or Gas-Liquid Ratio (GLR) in the Fluid tab, which activates embedded PVT calculations similar to those in the ESP module. The option must be enabled by checking “Gas Modeling” under Design Options in the Pump tab .

Pump Performance Data Tables

A new “Pump Performance Data Table” option was added to HPump mode, providing tabular performance data for analysis and reporting .

Usability Enhancements

  • Crosshairs on Pump Curves: Cursor coordinates are now displayed directly on pump curve graphs for precise reading .

  • JSON Import/Export: Added capability to import and export JSON files, improving data exchange and workflow automation .

  • “Use Pump Discharge Pressure” Option: New setting to perform ESP sizing calculations based on discharge pressure .

Database & Maintenance

The release includes pump database updates and error fixes to ensure accurate equipment selection .
