MountainsMap 11.2 is the latest release of Digital Surf’s industry-standard software for 2D/3D surface texture analysis and metrology, released on April 16, 2026 . It is the gold standard for use with profilometers, confocal microscopes, white light interferometers, and other surface measuring instruments .

Enhanced 3D Visualization

  • New 3D Amplification Factor: Apply custom vertical scaling for consistent visual comparison of height variations across different surfaces, with compatibility across studiables (datasets) and series .

Workflow & Usability

  • Rename Studies & Operators: Full control over displayed titles for clearer documentation and easier workflow understanding .

  • Improved Document Closing: Save all modified documents at once with clearer confirmation dialogs and visible keyboard shortcuts .

  • Show/Hide Parameter Tables: Choose to display only filtered studiables, avoiding duplicate display in further analysis .

Profilometry Enhancements

  • Enhanced Extract Areas: Work in absolute or relative units with new position controls; new ring-shaped area extraction option; crop to exclude non-measured points .

  • Result Picker Integration: Dynamically position areas based on variable results (e.g., around maximum peaks) for automation and batch processing .

  • Enhanced Multi-scale Filter Bank: New low-pass (S-filter) and high-pass (L-filter) capabilities for progressive removal of roughness or waviness components; generate series of surfaces to explore structures across different spatial scales .
