PreonLab 7.1.0 is the latest release of FIFTY2 Technology’s particle-based CFD simulation software, released on April 30, 2026 . This version introduces a new Virtual Wind Tunnel for airflow generation, significant advancements in thermal solver performance, and extensive workflow improvements based on customer feedback .
Key New Features
Virtual Wind Tunnel (Integrated FVM Solver)
A new capability that uses an integrated Finite Volume Method (FVM) solver to generate steady and transient airflows directly within PreonLab . Designed to accelerate early-stage vehicle soiling studies by significantly shortening the feedback loop between airflow generation and design iteration, while reducing reliance on external tools .
Higher-Order Thermal Solver Upgrades
The thermal solver introduced in the previous version has been further improved, delivering better performance and accuracy across validation cases . In a bus bar validation model, simulation performance improved by 50%, with 7 out of 9 heat transfer measurements now falling within 5% of experimental data . These improvements make conjugate heat transfer (CHT) simulations more feasible within a single environment .
