ODEON 19.06: Advanced Room Acoustics Simulation Software

ODEON 19.06 is the final service patch for ODEON 19, the latest major version of the industry-standard room acoustics simulation software from Odeon A/S. Released in November 2025 with service patch 19.06 following in March 2026, this version introduces significant enhancements including a new 3D Render interface, building acoustics module, and frequency-dependent scattering coefficients .

3D Render & Visualization

  • Improved 3D Render View: Default view in material list showing layer colors or material colors with real-time updates when materials change

  • Visual Assets: Insert 2D objects (people, artwork, furniture) into rooms for visual reference; assignable to sound sources

  • Shift-Click Surface Selection: Reveal surface numbers in inner view; outer view shows all surfaces the click passes through

  • Layer Color Management: Modify layer colors directly in standalone 3D Render, reflected in material list

Movie Auralisation (Auditorium/Combined Editions)

  • Walking Path Auralisation: Compute and export acoustic experience along predefined paths

  • MP4 Video Export: Share walkthrough videos with anyone—no VR goggles needed

Acoustic Material Enhancements

  • 1/3 Octave-Band Absorption: Accept and calculate absorption coefficients in 1/3 octave bands; final results still in full octave bands for standard compatibility

  • Frequency-Dependent Scattering: User-defined scattering coefficients per surface across frequency range

  • Material Information Window: Toggle window showing absorption (full/1/3 octave), scattering coefficients, manufacturer logo, material photos, and measurement reports

  • Spreadsheet Import: Expanded import supports 1/3 octave-band absorption, scattering coefficients, pictures, and links

Building Acoustics Module (Auditorium/Combined Editions)

  • Sound Insulation Calculation: Compute partition wall properties separating two rooms from measurements in both spaces

  • ISO 10140 Compliance: Based on ISO 10140-2 and ISO 10140-4 (2010)

  • Reverberation Time Export: Derive and export 1/3 octave-band RT from measurements

Measurement & Calibration

  • Simplified Calibration Interface: Complete G (Sound Strength) and STI calibration in single window; add one/two-step calibration files in any order

  • Open-Loop Measurements: Generate sine sweep .wav files for external device playback; import recordings for impulse response processing—no simultaneous emission/recording required

  • Ambisonics Enhancements: Change listening direction during playback; improved B-format to binaural decoder for better “out of head” experience
